Urban Decor
All of these photographs were taken in Oakland, California, U.S.A., by Fleur Helsingor.
I enjoy photographing examples of "everyday beauty" that I find while walking around the city where I live.
These examples of "Urban Decor" could be a drawing taped in a window with a message, a piece of art in someone's front yard, or a stenciled design on a garage door. I also collect images of interesting house numbers, architectural details, and public art.

#1: a message in a window on 40th Street, "stop using credit to live."

#2: wood sculpture, toys, and ornaments
on Howe Street.

#3: stenciled design on a garage door
on Howe Street.

#4: detail of "Fluid Dynamics:
Pacific Current", a piece of public art by Fernanda D'Agostino and Valerie Otani, on display at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline park.

#5: hanging sculpture on Gilbert Street.

#6: architectural detail
at the Chinese Garden.

#7: address plaque at a condominium complex on 40th Street.

#8: metal sculpture at Jack London Square.

#9: one of the murals in the
"Giraphics" series by Dan Fontes,
entrance to the 580 Freeway.

#10: mobile sculpture on Terrace Street.
